Checked, tho.

This dude was actually a transcendental idealist before Kant but people don't know about it. Look up his "phantasm of space" views. He was more radical than Locke and believed even spatial relations are just part of our appearance (just as the secondary qualities are). Which means his "materialism" was really much more noumenal.

No. It's relegated to philosophy departments, where it's an excuse for academics play logic puzzles.

>double-materialism
You utterly, retarded faggot, please refrain from commenting again until you have a literate notion of what dualism is!

>> No.21278491

>>21278176
All dualisms reduce themselves to a double-materialistic construct where monadic properties are split across a false divide where exporting materialist properties unto essences is believed to explain them away.
If you don't realize this you ought to kys.

Yes. The God of the jews is a distinct entity from the Gentile god which explains the difference in moral codes each one follows. You can take that any way you want to

Chistcuck cope is always the funniest. You worship a jew, accept that you are a cuck or give it up.

But did he believe space was actually "transcendental" or contingently constructed out of habit? I've never read Hobbes.

>All dualisms reduce themselves to a double-materialistic construct where monadic properties are split across a false divide where exporting materialist properties unto essences is believed to explain them away.
Meaningless sentence.

There is nothing wrong with dualism, or having parts of reality that do not interact.

And here it is again, just double-materialism.

>> No.21278869

>>21278677
Probably not out of habit. He just felt spatial relations were as much "in" us as color, taste, etc. So we don't know what the "material" world outside us is really like. Even Kant's "necessary and universal" transcendentalism is contingent-ish by Kant's own lights sometimes, so there's also that.

Interesting. Just watched Prof Sugures lecture on Hobbes but haven't made it to Leviathan yet. Still in the Greeks

>just double-materialism.
Oooga booga! me no understand res extensa and res cogitans! too hard! ouchie ouchie! Is it just material again? everything explainable is material because because it just is!
