A mix of autobiographies of like St, Therese of Lisieux's, Neil Peart's (which I plan on getting to next) and generally dead people who held life-affirming philosophies, math/physics/engineering textbooks and the thoughts of Christian scientists (generally Catholic, but I don't mind if they aren't) on religion (so far I've read a book by Donald Knuth on how his status as a computer scientist affected his view of religion, a book on the 19th century thermodynamics scientist Pierre Duhem and his Catholic faith and plan to read John Polkinghorne sometime in the future).

I read classic works of history, poetry, fiction and nonfiction.
I started just reading some classics, but got frustrated not understanding the historical contexts, which led me down the path of a general interest in history, which has opened my eyes to psychology, culture, politics etc. It also made me interested in other languages. I can speak spanish fluently now and am ok in french, horrific in german and mind-shatteringly bad at russian, but i’m learning.
