>i sit alone, in dead-silence, reading this book, becoming completely immersed in it
>genuinely go fucking crazy, unironically start believing i see things moving in the corner of my eyes and feeling like things are in the house with me
>get so fucking anxious, beyond anything i've ever felt before, and i lock myself in my room all day and refuse to leave except to go to the toilet

The scariest parts of the book are NOT dependent on the page-related gimmicks. They are just silly gimmicks.

People say this book is Reddit but I don’t think it is. This book is fantastic and if you let yourself get lost in it, it is genuinely consuming. Especially the letters from his mother at the end. Probably the most enjoyable and interesting act of reading I’ve ever had besides a few picks from the /lit/ top 100.

The book is worth getting the full color version but the actual horror of the narrative is just normal text like every other book.
However, since it’s supposed to be a self-aware book, I think it would kind of remove you from it if it were not in a book.
