Here's what gave me an idea for my next poem: an old man I do odd jobs had someone else who used to help him out, named Richard. For whatever reason, Richard did not live with his parents and was raised by just his grandmother. He went to university and got a degree in Chemistry. Shortly before graduating, he disappeared without a trace. Nobody has heard from him since.

The question is, how approach? I've no idea where to start, what it should be like structure wise, what phrases I want to put in... Frustrating! I'm thinking of doing a first person and imagining myself as Richard.

Does anyone have any recommended reading material concerning this kind of issue? Why do people go missing, and why before he graduated?
