I just finished the second book. I thought the first was good, the second very good save for the ending. Is it worth continuing onto the 3rd and 4th?

Endymion and Rise of Endymion actually retcons things from Hyperion to make it worse.

Endymion and Rise are very good but they're basically action movies. If you liked Hyperion books for their contemplative parts it'll be jarring cause books 3 and 4 are basically huge chases with xplosions everywhere.

Second two books are so fucking bad they retroactively make first two books worse. I don't understand how can such a sheer drop in overall quality be achieved, it is likely that author outsourced them to someone. Seriously how can you even go from plot of first part to cardboard "relatable" protag running after his mary sue anime waifu.

I'm currently reading the Rise of Endymion purely because of my autistic need to finish every book in the series. I just want this to end. Why did he stretch out this story? What was Simmons thinking? The only likeable character is De Soya. I wish Raul wasn't a POV character at all.
