Is Last and First Man a prequel to Star Maker, loosely connected or not at all?

>> No.21024481

I haven't read Starmaker but Last and First Men was one of the first real books I ever read and still one of my favorites. It's such an amazing and strange book. I should read Star Maker.

I believe it's loosely a prequel. Events hinted at at the end connect up with the background of Starmaker.

I've read it at least 10 times. Absolutely amazing.

The events of Last and First Men are briefly summarized in a page or less in Star Maker, so yes. In fact most of his major works are or could be connected
>Star Maker and Last and First Men already covered
>Last Men in London is a direct sequel to Last and First Men
>The character Humpty from Last Men in London is obviously one of the "submerged supermen" described in Odd John
>In Sirius: A Fantasy of Love and Discord, the scientist who creates intelligent dogs idly wonders what would happen if he applied his methods to humans, which would be one of the supermen of Odd John
>The flames of The Flames are similar to the solar organisms described in Star Maker
>A Man Divided has no connections but neither does it contradict the "Star Maker expanded universe"
>Death into Life and Darkness and the Light directly contradict Star Maker in their future histories
