But that's its flaw, a mortal man writing a god. When I say this to people they say, well in fiction you can be a man and write a woman, you can be a jew and write an arab...but the difference here is not just in kind but in order. coomer is the keyword, being a coomer is not something to be proud of, when you are called out as coomer you pretend not to hear it or understand, it suddenly makes no sense to you, just like when a pervert or a thief is called out in public they plead ignorance and then just hide. You are a coomer, yet you present yourself as someone trustworthy, who really knows what good literature is, you are recommending erotic lit to people who might not know better and make claims like "it's actually good and untouched by culture war" but at the same time you want to waste peoples time by getting them to read trash or worse turn then into degenerate coomers like yourself. Coomer lit is not good literature, it's garbage, just because a piece of garbage was not touched by culture wars doesn't mean it suddenly stopped being garbage. >Having walked by shop windows, mirrors and gates -- and it was cold -- she pushed a heavy door. Barely open, it closed with a bang. We climbed the stairs. I followed her footsteps. The walls seemed high. She said it was blocks with nothing but offices. No one was there at night. At the top of the stairs she opened a wooden door that led to a corridor. In the corridor was a small washbasin. And toilets. We went on down the long narrow corridor. It seemed we must be a long way from the street. Then we stopped in front of another door and she gestured for me to go in.

>I found myself in a room carved out of nothing. I felt the icy cold. It's a rectangle, a window at the far end, yellowing walls. 'J'-habite ici.' I was standing. She picked up a saucepan, poured in some alcohol and lit it. We stood watching the fire on the ground, the struggle, then deaththroes of the last darting flames. She told me she had seen some cockfights in Andalusia. 'La chauleur ne dure pas longtemps.' And she had something Spanish about her, something ancient, something ecclesiastic. The blaze of heat died and the cold of the mountain tops and the glaciers swept down.

>A bulb hung from the ceiling. She offered me the only seat. Under the bulb. She picked up a gnawed candle (was she living on wax?) and lit it with a match. The wick was buried. Her eyes, which took no light from the trembling flame, were bright, calm beneath, lacquered, alien. Her face was partly hidden by her hood, it could have been a veil of marble wrapped around her. Her beauty hadn't left her. Nor her determination. She looked at me with irony, challenge almost.

I haven't read nearly all of those but I can say of the ones I have read that're there, MoL is pretty good by the back half, though it suffers a lot early on Reincarnated as a Farmer is charming and overall competent though I think it's not quite for me, it's very much a half-parodic book about 'gaming the system', I enjoyed Tower of Somnus well enough but it is objectively not very well-written and kind of doesn't DO a lot with its own concept at least in the first book, the idea of a shared MMO with a bunch of aliens is cool and it does SO little with it besides "hey here's THIS species and ALL of them dislike humans because humans really suck at presenting anything but the worst aspects of themselves", Primal Hunter is solid, I wouldn't call it great, but it's at least good, has a likeable enough protagonist though it's probably one of the most blatant power fantasies on there, Full Murderhobo is funny-ish, but somehow manages to kind of do a whole lot of nothing because it spreads itself too thin (there's three main POVs and arguably four protagonists and so much of their actual growth is time-skipped that the only one you can really follow the growing up of is Luke whose entire arc is "Castaway but LitRPG"). I've read a couple others on that list but they're not mentioned for a reason. The censors don't give a shit about what the west thinks lol they just ban stuff that violates their guidelines. Loads of stuff gets caught accidentally or is completely mundane in terms of political message like house of horrors having to scientifically explain the supernatural elements to get around its ban.
They're mostly not judging the popularity or impact of a work, it's just see a violation whack a ban on it.

Similar imagery and the sleek and terse yet slightly fragmented style of writing of Neuromancer. The story is similar to the Sprawl and Bridge trilogies in that it's an imagining of the future of technology as written on the cusp of a sea change, assuming AI and general autonomous computing is about to take off as the net and computers were when Neuromancer was written.

The Lord Leto sat alone in a dark catacomb, his worm body surrounded by his Hwi Noree doll collection, when Moneo entered the room.
Leto smiled. “Something’s on your mind.”
“Yes Lord, I find myself wondering once again why you turned yourself into a worm. How does that benefit the Empire?”
Leto smiled, and proceeded to quote the entire works of Plato, in their original ancient Greek (which Moneo could not understand, of course). “Do you see now my friend, how intelligent I am? I was Plato, after all. Very intelligent.”
“Yes Lord, it is as you say. As I listened to you for the past few hours though, another question came to mind.”
Leto smiled. “Of course Moneo, you know how much it pleases me to demonstrate my intellectual superiority over you. Proceed.”
“Thank you, Lord.” Moneo bowed low. “My question, is when my daughter Siona will become relevant to the plot?”
Leto smiled. “Don’t you see? Despite doing nothing, she was always the most important person to me and my plans.” He stroked the head of one of his Hwi life-sized dolls, accidentally activating the Tleilaxu bomb planted inside to kill him. He was unharmed, but the explosion alerted the rest of his guard.
Duncan Idaho burst into the room, still balls deep in one of his harem members. “What the fuck is going on?!”
Leto smiled. “Oh Duncan, this is why I love your company so. You know exactly what questions to ask, and you doubt everything.”
But Duncan was a Face Dancer, and started firing blaster shots at Leto’s face.
Moneo shouted from his side: “My Lord! Why is this happening?!”
Leto smiled, as he so rarely did. “All of this is in accordance with my Golden Path.” He resumed cooing over his dolls.
