Recently a new translation of the Divine Comedy was published in my country. In the preface the insinuation was made that the criticism of Dante towards many of his contemporaries could be understood as criticism to Trump, for ease of reading. Also they removed criticism on Islam to ‘appeal to a broader, modern day audience’. Most useful preface I’ve ever read as I knew to drop that steaming pile of shit ASAP.

Same, fuck that. Some >writers think they are better that the author in his own book. If they are so good why did i get bored of their stupid interpretation or why dont they write their own instead of making me read a chore. That happened with my spanish copy of sun and steel. You could feel the DYELness from reading that preface alone.
