Come on bro, read it. You’ve really disrespected yourself by not reading it, and I love you too much to let you continue to do so. So go read it

I'm familiar with most of it through all the allusions in media. It just seems like a drag to read from front to back

you don't have to read the whole thing, just some of the essential books to start with (for example Genesis and one of the gospels, that will be maybe thirty to forty pages each), it's not a novel with a narrative where you need to go through every chapter in order

>it's not a novel with a narrative where you need to go through every chapter in order
this is largely why I still haven't read it. Is there a /lit/ infographic or guide on what versions and sections to read?

>what versions
I think it's good to read two very different versions simultaneously to compare differences in translation and get the spirit rather than the letter (for me it was a modern annotated version in my language and english KJV)
as for infographics I haven't seen any, read the books that have the stories and famous quotes that you've heard about, you may do some research and read them chronologically because Old Testament orders them by genre (first history, then writings and wisdoms and then prophets, when you might want to read each of the prophets next to the conrext of the times when they lived)
