Mostly unnecessary but I still want a copy of the Divine comedy with the illustration by Botticelli

I think they can be nice in the right contexts. I read a nice fantasy story once when I was a kid, I don't remember what it was called, but every chapter or so the author drew in his amateurish, but soulful sketches of the climactic event. I thought it was cool then and I think it's classy now if done well. It was fairly unclear from the drawings exactly what everything/everyone looked like so it still maintained a dreamlike immersion into the world that didn't encroach on my own imagination.

I wish there was a edition of The Divine Comedy with medieval illuminations. Dore is fine, but the medieval art feels more mystical

Good if used sparingly.

Especially in novels like Youjo Senki that are shit at describing things.

good if used sparingly, by a talented artist and in an interesting style. forgive the bad image quality, its what came in the epub and i dont feel like getting the physical copy right now.
