I used to read 120 per year. Good old school days. I rarely went to school and only passed because the principal fiddled with the records because I was some kind of child prodigy. Of course, two decades later I've reached nothing in life.

Why don't you do anything? I've known some people like you, it's always mind boggling to me how few they actually achieve even though it would be easier for you.

I feel similar to this and the answer is pretty simple. Our energy would be wasted on a machine that is destined to die.. during the collapse we distribute our time to any activities that further our perspective and knowledge for the eventual collapse which seems like the only logical move considering nobody has any control over the giant chess pieces already at play.

They got babied for being special as a child and as such they have no drive or work ethic. They don't see or believe in their own potential, just assume they "know it" from others saying they do. They have no inner passion for it outside fleeting moments of showing off their neflected gift. So what if I'm a math wiz? What do I want to do with my life? Am I just supposed to do math? Who am i outside of my talent? That sort of stuff. These people needed stern fathers to show them they aren't exempt from reality and also need to learn hard work.

Very unsettling picture, what if a book fell in the toilet? It would be ruined.

When you’re never getting challenged, you develop zero discipline, worse, you develop an aversion to discipline, which usually prevents you from achieving anything more than survival.
