He's my hero. Who are your literary heroes?

>> No.20959924

He is ok, I don't know, I like most of the people I bother reading, otherwise I just stop.

So your hero is an alcoholic, chain-smoking misogynist with no self-worth, hygiene (and deep-pitted acne scars that prove the latter) who wrote Tumblr-tier "poetry" are probably couldn't tell you the difference between a dactyl or a spondee?

Bukowski is great but he's also kind of shit. I don't know how to describe him. I love reading him but it feels like he's gotten lucky more than he's a great writer. I've only read one book "post-fame" which was Women, and I didn't even bother finishing that one because it was so bad. Factotum and Post Office are great because it's about how shit his life is and what it's like being at the bottom.

For me it has to be Elliot Rodger, H.P. Lovecraft, George R.R. Martin, Adolf Hitler, Charles Bukowski and Michel Houellebecq

No really, I genuinely love what they wrote. Why do people always assume that if you like classics that makes you a pseud or try-hard?
