Any other schizoids around? This was a good read that basically spells the bad ending we're heading towards, fellow schizos.

Schizophrenic; too separated from the body; giving up the mask and releasing their inner self in a psychotic manner; they "kill" "themselves" after every defense has ultimately failed so the only way left is to die to avoid being killed.

just bad ocr, it is fine in the printed version.

Bad misreading. Basically it says schizophrenics are on natural acid trips and usually society prevents them from fully experiencing the journey. His ideal ending is basically that of coming out a bad trip and ending up being well adjusted.

Wrong, they're on a vicious circle of trying to not lose their real selves but in such a way that it only breaks them further.

Cure your schizophrenia with one simple trick:

Maximise your sleep, fix your diet (Fasting, no sugar or carbs or seed oils, more protein and natural fats) and do intense cardio (especially running) to increase blood flow to the brain etc.

Thank me later.

schizoid here. found the book boring but he was the first person that i've ever seen talk about my severe body-mind divide, which was interesting. i basically consider my body a flesh puppet propped up on stilts which, like an idiot servitor, barely manages to follow commands from my mind. i stay dreaming

>The act is 'simple, determinate, universal' but his self wishes to be complex, indeterminate, and unique.
This sounds exactly like Jung's characterization of the "intuitive introvert", a person that is obsessed with potentiality and eschews all actuality, is afraid more than anything of being one thing.

This only separated my mind from my body even more. All this discipline just leads to a train of thought in which the body is a pig the self lashes endlessly, further developing the rift. Then you begin seeing the same pig in others, in their more open and normal behavior led primarily and almost exclusively by desire (which you now acknowledge and consciously loathe), leading to a type of sociopathic thought there is no going back from.
You should suggest the complete opposite if you believe schizotypal disorders are "curable": push these poor souls into a chemically aided lobotomy to kill their sense of self. Drugs, hard and soft; trash food; entertainment; no stress, no pressure, no expectations; breed them like cattle, fatten them up, and never make them aware of their own misery. It's in this perpetual bliss that the schizo can feel at peace, and Lord help them, may the merciful type-2 diabetes-coronary-thrombosis take them early. The alternative is a world they are bound to inflict pain to because they were not born for it.

Hey man this looks fascinating, thanks for posting
Anyway ever since I accepted the Kalam cosmological argument at the age of 15 I've been literally incapable of conceiving of existence as anything other than my body occupying a real, existing universe with a mind that is in some way connected to a soul so I am extremely intolerant and dismissive of anything involving a collapse of the mind-body problem
Is this going to make me angry or not?
I am very interested in the psychology of insane people so I would like to read this

The last chapters are about schizophrenics and their progression, with real examples. It was sad, reading about these people trying to keep their sense of self but breaking more and more. Interesting, but depressing.

Just make sure your body doesn't start acting out mannerisms on its own, you'll know you went too far then
