I wanted to make this thread myself but for pop sci.

The Grand Design by Hawking is a great book. Changed my worldview in college.

Quantum by Manjeet Kaur is good for the history of development of Quantum Physics.

The Emperor's new mind by Penrose deals with the question of consciousness.
