Honestly, that was the only part that didn't make me cringe. It was genuinely unnerving. Too bad it was a damn loose end that lead to nowhere as everything else in the book.

Literally same. The house didn't scare me even remotely, the writing had flashes of power here and there but never really had much of an effect, but those 3 or so pages with the dog actually somewhat disturbed me. I can't say I really took anything else away from the book and I get that the whole thing is metaphorical in some way, but its ideas are self-conscious and the author clearly doesn't have much to say so we're left with
>the house represents their relationship because there's like distance growing in between them man, and we distance ourselves from our insecurities and scars that we don't want to acknowledge
