20891638 No.20891638 [Reply] [Original]

Best books on the feminism that aren't just pandering or political tools? I'm assuming something like a book about Hypatia or that Italian lady that showed her box off to everyone at once.

Feminism Is for Everybody by bell hooks
Judith Butler's stuff

unless you're asking about history of feminism and not theory

I'm mostly focusing on theory but I'd be interested to hear what you have for history.

Women? No.
The Capital? Yes.
For some time? Since 1944.

I'm a guy. If you at least had sex, you COULD know 2 things:

We all know misogynists never have sex, never mind that every other woman has a story about how their ex is Satan’s earthly avatar.

Yes if you look at it from a sociological and ethical perspective. Who decides what behavior is tolerated in society?

>> No.20891925

>>20891793
How so? Explain to me what designates a fair distribution of values between the genders and where men have advantages and women have advantages you cant, because its apples and oranges, otherwise what's the point of having women (or men, for that matter) around if both genders have the same innate qualities?

>> No.20891985

>>20891887
That's why I said COULD. Obviously having sex isn't the only requirement, the special ingredient is basic empathy.

Gender doesn't actually exist. It's a spook. Only biological sexes exist, and their impact on the soul (or "psyche" or however you wanna call it) of the human is 0.

How are women the same as men then?
>women are normal human beings equal to men
That's what you originally said. Except now you're admitting that they are significantly different, and that human beings biologically diverge into two sexes, which is the same thing as psychological divergence because biology is inextricably bound up with personality no matter which way you cut it. If you say the soul is beyond gender, then it also has to be beyond human-ness, because gender is an inextricable part of humanity. And if the soul is beyond both of those, considering we treat each other on the basis of our traits qua human and qua gender (not qua soul, which we can't perceive), then the soul is simply not important for comparing the differences between us, and we come back to the same problem, which is that women and men, despite having the same "soul", are extremely different.

This is easy, the first and best:

Lady Damaris Masham in the 1500's/1600's "on the vertuous (or christian) life," on the need of women to be educated as their education as being mothers and stewards of the house is more important given their vital station in parenting the children and managing the household.

The burping and monkey-swaggering woman who lowers herself to emulate a common drunkard is the exact opposite of this.

There are others, Mary Astell springs to mind, but Damaris was the first. Coincidentally one of the first humans, regardless of sex, to write logically and rationally about the Virtues, without fraudulent appeals to religion, probably since the Roman Republic.

This is true. Her videos are actually concise and informative as well. Makes sense they only have like 15k - 20k views because the algorithm (and the jew) need you to SHAKE THAT ASS BABY.
I've seen her somewhere else and the lighting in these videos do her a lot of favors. I'd still want a woman to talk to me about Heidigger so I can tell her philosophy is a cope and she should read Plato and the Gospels and go home.
