Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

1 Kings 21
>21 Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel,
>22 And will make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin.
I like it because pisseth is a funny word

It’s a pastor who claims that the King James Bible is superior to all other English Bible translations, and he’s using this verse as an argument. “him that pisseth against the wall” (מַשְׁתִּ֣ין) is just an old Hebrew slang term meaning “man,” and most Bible translations just translate it “man” or “males”

No it's not, it's pro antinatalism. The bitch should practice celibacy.

>> No.20863410

>>20863365
"Pisseth against the wall" is the better translation. "Man" or "male" loses part of the verse's essence

>I am about to bring evil upon you, and I will root you out, and I will cut off every pisser against the wall of Ahab’s, and ruler and helper in Israel.
Robert Alter’s translation agrees

The original hebrew words in this context is used as "Never existed" not "Never been born," its a mistranslation.

From Genesis 19:
[30] And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.
[31] And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:
[32] Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
[33] And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
[34] And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our Father.
[35] And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
[36] Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.

so they got vored by some she-bears because they called someone bald?
absolutely based

>> No.20865251

>>20865225
Not only that, but if you remember they said "Go up, thou bald head" twice, and the expression "go up" could be seen as mocking the fact that Elijah had just been translated by God into heaven by a whirlwind in the previous chapter, and the children were mocking the account of what happened by telling Elisha to "go up" in the same way, presumably meaning telling him to kill himself. At least that's what makes the most sense to me.
