I don't understand the passages on idols. The author clearly endorses a henotheistic view which recognizes multiple gods, but idolatry is continually maligned as worship of literal handicrafts. It's fairly clear, though, that the idols themselves are only supposed to be used as a symbolic representation of a deity in religions which make use of them. Every criticism of idolatry comes off as woefully uninformed about other religious traditions so that the justification for the persecution of idolaters is completely nonsensical.

You missed the kinda big part that those gods aren't real and are, infact, demons

That's not in the bible. Other gods are recognized as gods, just as inferior to YHWH, e.g. psalm 82.

Zeus and the Baal and the like are spirits of power related to fallen angels. They are no more "gods" then a rebel baron is a king tho he claims to be.

cont.
OP is just too automatically semantic to understand the difference between small g and big G God. Ancient pagans didn't think their gods were omnipotent and omniscient, nothing in ancient Judaism or Christianity or Islam says that there are no other powers at work on the earth that masqurade as gods.

What? It is in the Bible! 1 Corinthians 10: 19-20
>What then? Do I say, that what is offered in sacrifice to idols, is any thing? Or, that the idol is any thing?
>But the things which the heathens sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God. And I would not that you should be made partakers with devils.

Idols were literally statues that people thought were gods. Like, they used to worship the actual statue itself.

There are no henotheists. Henotheism is a projection by scholars of a worldview that ancients didn't have.

Neither the English nor the Greek says that. The Greek says "Λόγος" and the English, Word.

Thanks be to God for the Word of life, who shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and kingdom.

you can't properly understand the Bible if you're not a saved Christian. Christians can understand the Bible because they have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit teaches the meaning behind the scriptures. also, if you're not using the KJV Bible and using some modern bible version as an English speaker, you're using a corrupted bible.

watch this gospel video if you want to be 100% sure of going to heaven anons. it's very easy to be saved from hell and the video explains how to be saved. most churches out there won't tell you this simple gospel message and instead they try to brainwash you with false gospels (usually some kind of works based salvation) and lead you into hellfire.

God alone is worthy of worship. Idol worship robs God of the glory that is rightfully His, and that is something He will not tolerate (Isaiah 42:8).

The distinction between a symbolic representation and the thing wasn't as clear. You have a statue of Marduk or whatever but then generations of people only see "Marduk" as the statue. The statue becomes the god.
There's an analogous psychological phenomena, a goal or something becomes an idol. You live for that imagined idol and forget the underlying reality it was originally supposed to represent. Having no other God and not falsely representing that God is the first and most important thing. Fundamentalists are breaking the first commandment, they're idolaters who worship a representation instead of what it represents.

Wait though, you're saying God's inspired word is manmade? Because an idol is something that men have made. At least that's the biblical definition.
