The Elric books are better than the Witcher books (at least in translation; I cannot judge them in their original Polish).
It's not exactly on-topic, but The Witcher 2 video game has a great narrative and a (potentially) refreshingly untraditional and satisfying ending that recontextualizes earlier events. Witcher 3 is excellent too (and much better mechanically), but it lacks in narrative shape and tonal consistency compared to 2.

Yes, Witcher 2 is a great game. It is much more political than the other 2 and somehow Geralt is always in the middle of happenings/disasters. It is a shame that the PC port is an unoptimized mess

elric seems like a more high fantasy kinda thing. i'm a native Polish speaker and in my view the Witcher is YA tier but then again pretty much all fantasy is YA tier except maybe LotR and a few other examples.

the Witcher is basically GoT but with much less thought-out worldbuilding (Sapkowski just didn't care much about this) and just 2 main characters who drive the story forward (Geralt and Ciri). that is to say, it's dark fantasy, politically it's liberal, kinda woke even, apathetic, cynical, iconoclastic, medieval-realistic-like without too much magic

it was great entertainment when i was about 13 but i'd cringe at it now. but then again i cringe at the vast majority of fantasy. i will say this, it is one of the better fantasy settings

The Witcher games are better than their source material, a shame we never got any Elric games. One was a failed project turned into Blood Omen, which was great, but it still sucks nobody tried to adapt him to video games since The Witcher given its success.

Looks like I was wrong and that there is hope for an Elric game yet:

Elric was the book that Moorcock invented the genre of 'dark fantasy' with so I don't know what you're on about.
