The Threepenny Opera. I also quite like The Good Person of Szechwan.

I got a theater degree at a university that was, in that time, primarily influenced by Brecht. What I learned from that can be distilled into three points:
• If you're interested in his dramas, read Caucasian Chalk Circle
• If you're interested in his philosophy, read his text on Epic Theatre
• If you're interested in seeing his theory put into practice, watch WWE wrestling

I legitimately think Kayfabe and Verdumseffekt could be synonyms

You have to read Wagner first to understand him.

Brecht's theory of theatre was built on something that generally gets translated as the Alienation Effect. The idea that an audience should never be fully immersed in the events on stage. It is important that they believe in it and react as someone truly witnessing the events would react, while simultaneously maintaining a sense of distance as they know in their head that it's all fiction. He hated, most of all, audiences that sat passively, observing events as though they were invisible bystanders to what took place.
