Call of the Arcade and Call of the Cherokee were my favorite ones. I don’t know why everyone has such a hard-on for Call of the Crocodile. Don’t get me wrong. It was awesome. But Arcade and Cherokee were the stronger books imo. I liked that Sam was one of the main parts of those books.

I think it's because Crocodile is most people's first exposure to Gardner's innovative style. Yea Call of the Cherokee was great too
