My son just told me he will sell all my books when I die. I told him"Oh that's cool. So where are you gonna be living from now on?"

give him some books you no longer want and tell him to go sell them now. He's in for a surprise when he finds out how much work it is.
>set up shop on amazon or ebay
>link it to a paypal account or something
>create a listing for each and every title
>take photos of each book, resize, adjust colors, etc.
>include ISBN and condition in each listing
>check store daily for any sales
>buy shipping materials, boxes/envelopes/stamps etc.
>deal with cunty customers who disagree with book condition or think shipping is too slow
>deal with other sellers undercutting your price by a single cent
>hope the shipping costs alone don't completely devour your profit margin
>if he's lucky maybe he'll make $10 a month after doing aaaaaall that fucking work
do you have any first editions? Because that's the only way he's going to make any money at all. And if he actually does make money, congrats, your son now has a side hustle.

alternatively:
>give him a big box of books and send him down to the used book store to see if they want to buy them
>watch him come home with $1.35
>tell him he is going to need to think up a better way to get money

The problem is, storing and transporting books is an even bigger pain in the ass.
