Do i need to read Kant/Hegel first to understand Lacan Ecrits? What is he like? Is he mystical, like Jung? Will he change my life?

He likely won't change your life, but he'll give you an interesting framework in which to think about things. Mostly I like him as a way to overcome the dumb pop-Freudianism that dominates how most people think about desire, a kind of biological instinctual approach. For Lacan, symbols and fantasies don't stand in for more elementary instincts that aren't able to express themselves directly: representation, detours, and deferral form the necessary structure of desire.

I've never read Hegel or Kant and I don't think it hampered my reading of Lacan. But I would recommend pic related, because it's where Lacan gets his Hegel from, and it will help explain the central concept in Lacan of the emptiness of the subject, and what Lacan means by 'death'.

As for whether he's mystical, he's not mystical in the psychedelic sense of Jung, who he conjures up a world of ancient, colourful meanings. It's more ghostly and abstract, mystical in the sense of walking through old abandoned ruins, or receiving a letter from someone you don't know but who knows about you.

Not OP but thanks for the book rec anon. I’ve been interested in both Hegel and Lucan for a while now, but have been kind of intimidated. Judging from your recommendation, and other reviews, this seems like a good stepping stone to dive into both authors.

the intellectuals in the bourgeois republic want to secure their republic, so the poor who vote really need to think there is an alternative to classical liberalism, and that’s jut new liberalism, but the proletariat is just fucked over since the communists themselves were unmasked as just another society full of atheist bureaucrats who have fuck all idea on what to do, and they heavily despise any criticism -there is also the jewish trend of pushing for self depreciation on whatever atheists was still relying after ww2, like all the Levinas crap, all the BHL crap, all the goy deleuze, lacan, girard crap and all the jews passing that in their entertainment industry -socialists mixed that with the infatuation of the atheists for (fake) introspection atheists fucking love meta things, like in their cartoons (atheists love to watch cartoons) and Teeshirts, so like a cartoon talking directly to the audience knowing he is a cartoon (stuff like rick an morty and so on)
