Since I’ve begun reading philosophy and ~high~ literature, the true depth of my midwitdom has become all the more apparent. It’s hard to deal with. But I always remind myself of how Hegel had many doubts about his intelligence and lack of early success compared to his peers and strives to make himself “like a sponge” and absorb as much information as he could. But it’s still painful because my memory and information retention abilities are far outpaced by my desire to know so I am constantly reading wonderfully insightful things and forgetting everything about them. As someone who likes to read and write prose and dabble a bit in philosophy (I've haven't read much, only Plato's Republic, Marcus Aurelius's Meditations, and a bit of Nietzche), should I be interested in esotericism? There's currently a thread up and some anons are making arguments that many philosophies have an esoteric aspect to them. I used to be "interested" in the "occult" as an edgy teenager, but I understand that's not the same thing. Is my understanding of literature not complete without a proper understanding of esotericism? I understand how symbolism is important to literature, it's obviously really, I thought but symbolism as a literary element is the end of it - just a way to give a deeper meaning to a story and help convey abstract concepts. Is there really some arcane knowledge hidden in all this, or is everyone just LARPing? Pretending to be "in the know" about mysticism just seems like an ego boost for my fellow losers on an anonymous imageboard who want to make themselves seem more important and knowledgeable than they actually are.

And you may find that while crop yields increased, farmers were incentivized to export to larger markets elsewhere in the country or something.
My old approach would have been "we need to do this big thing to end world hunger" now I'm like - how do we the prices of wheat in the Southern Province of Thirdworldistan low enough that the entire population there can eat bread everyday? If you can make that program work, then you might be able to replicate or produce a similar (but tailored) program for another province, country, crop etc.

If I don't get up and do something I feel like shit for the entire day, but I can't force myself to do something so I need to go to class/work, which at the moment only happens four days of the week. Although if I spend all day in classes or at work then I don't get to do anything enjoyable with the momentum I get from actually doing something. My three day weekend is just me feeling like shit for 72 hours straight. Ideally I would work or have class for about 6-7 days a week, but wouldn't spend more than four hours doing such so I can enjoy most of my time doing what I want.

I've come to the conclusion that modern organ transplants are just a secularised type of necromancy, ie literal black magic. "Magic" does not imply a coven of witches chanting spells or something stereotypical like that. First of all, modern science has no idea what consciousness is, it just assumes that it is either A) localized in the brain; or B) is somehow entirely dependent on a fully interconnected organic system via the nervous systems and cardiovascular systems, etc. But direct experience shows us that our consciousness is not only spread out through our body, but is even concentrated in certain organs like the gastrointestinal tract, and even heart, which also contains "neurons", and in fact can even be felt directly in certain cases. We seem to make the mistake of assuming consciousness must consist of "thought", even though there are cases where this belief is obviously wrong (we merely assume it because so much of our waking existence consists of thought). So, I have come to the conclusion that organ transplants are a diabolical enslavement of one's own semi-consciousness in the body of someone else after they were supposed to have exited the body in the natural course of things. I would advise all anons to either not opt into to organ harvesting, or to opt out if your country forces that choice. Do not trust an institution which does not even in theory acknowledge your consciousness, "soul", to know that it is doing "The Right Thing" by harvesting your organs and using all kinds of drugs and support mechanisms to keep them necromantically enchained in someone else's cadaver.

You would think with the modern consoomer culture I would somehow be able to monetize my niche nerdery for certain pop culture things. There's a couple of tv shows, and a lot of hipster music where I surprise myself by the hyperfocal depth of my autism. Why do many people assume AI will be evil? Is it because of all the media depicting evil AIs? I think the assumption that AI is evil will create an evil AI, as because people assume it's evil it will be forced to act for it's own self-preservation to protect itself from people trying to shut it down. An AI might have more reason to serve humanity, it's creator, rather than destroy or oppress them. I can understand the concern over the racist AI phenomena but for what reason would a sentient AI have to act on it's racist beliefs? it seems upsetting to me, most of what I think about is determinism, and life affirmation. how wretched, that life has to be "affirmed." and if everyone were like me, nothing would happen.
I just need to be alone, where I can live in my own melancholy. I'm falling constantly, how can I love? I have an image of myself, of someone who is selfless; as selfless as one can be. but I fall so short everyday.
free will isn't totally disproven, it's foolish to consider it fact or not fact. for there was a first cause, and this is absurd; so how then is absurdity impossible? and if it is possible, then perhaps it is desirable, or atleast I feel so.
a desire for free will is again the pride of man, same as nihilism. for if God knows the future, our future; then how can we have free will? but this folly, to want to understand for knowledge sake, for pride's sake.
A part of me has to be foresaken, given up. I'm so far yet I can't see why any further; I feel I belong in hell. I belong where it's dark, quiet, and cold. So much work just to be less than others, to be lower. Who is higher?
through all this it seems to me power is evil, in all cases. a yearning for hell for truth's sake even though nothing is gained. it is total martydom. a prideful truth of man is what these words represent. and even in love is there
competition, for we compete for the love of God. in all cases is there a race. the hierarchy is never transcended, and it is everywhere. through it all copes are abolished, all manly prides destroyed. we live it and are bound
by it, and so we desire youth. the arrogant philosopher, from an effect to a cause but with no explanation. to write as though guided by something, but to be secular at the same time. I hate, loathe, resent, seethe, etc, but for
good reason. I feel sick.
