In this queer polyamorous m/f romance novella, two metamours realize they have crushes on each other while planning their shared partner's birthday party together.

Ernest, a Jewish autistic demiromantic queer fat trans man submissive, and Nora, a Jewish disabled queer fat femme cis woman switch, have to contend with an age gap, a desire not to mess up their lovely polyamorous dynamic as metamours, the fact that Ernest has never been attracted to a cis person before, and the reality that they are romantically attracted to each other, all while planning their dominant's birthday party and trying to do a really good job.

No, fuck you, that's the actual description.

Personally, I'm glad Jewish lit has moved on from middle aged men masturbating to fat retarded men dressed like women masturbating.

u can feel all the heart taken out of these romantic stories and the separation from our primordial sense of romance for this complexified, heartless, academic perturbation of our culture

It felt weird at first but then I realized that some of the things I enjoy must also look this insane to people when they're not "in". I don't know what it means and how it "feels like" to be Jewish, but I often see Jewish people insist on it a lot so it must be something that shapes their lives. I already know cis and trans, no surprises there. Demiromantic was weird at first, I thought it was the norm for everyone, but some people don't even feel empathy so of course, people are going to experience that differently. I don't know much about disability.
The part that's a bit sad is how fat is more and more accepted as a fact of life instead of a thing that you can change, but considering the low rates of success from people that try, maybe it makes more sense like that.
I haven't read the book, and probably never will, but some people in the comments read it (assuming they are true) and they seem to like it.
Maybe I'm missing the cultural consequences of this, or why it's not a good idea to do this. But as of right now it's just a few people having fun in their buble.

Being as charitable as possible to inane ideals is not the same thing as virtue, mate.

It's not being charitable, it's realizing that complaining against this novel is a waste of time that will only serve to increase its sales. Unless you have a particular moral/societal issue with the novel, in which case I can understand.
