I recently started a job as a pharmacy technician a few months ago and I want to quit so bad. I absolutely hate it. The pharmacy is busier than I could have ever imagined from opening to close and the responsibilities of a pharmacy technician are endless. They will show up after having received a text saying their out of refills or were out of stock completely expecting their medication to be ready. People are also stupid, entitled, dependent, needy, and helpless. They will come in for a refill of a medication and when you ask them what they want a refill of, they have no clue. They don’t know the name, they don’t even know what it’s for. And then they get angry and treat YOU like the idiot. Also, a constant fucking deluge of “Can you call my doctor for me? Can you call my insurance for me?” No, you’re a grown fucking adult and I already have too much to do. Not to mention I’m not even legally allowed to a lot of the times. This is just a fucking fraction of the shit that happens every single hour working in a pharmacy that has made me ten times more misanthropic.

Why am I like this? I can't ever just let people in or let anyone get close to me. The more someone tries to get to know me the harder I push them away and close myself off. It's nearly impossible to sell TV scripts or screenplays unless you have an inside connection.
Better to write something that'll let someone else write their "take" on it, and pay me handsomely for the right to do so.
Also, filmmaking is incredibly expensive.
And TV/movies don't have the interesting storytelling...just the commercially viable storytelling.

My literary hero, Philip K. Dick, despite writing 44 novels and 125 short stories, struggled with his finances his whole life.
It all turned around near the end, when he sold the rights to one of his novels, for the movie that became "Blade Runner".
Sadly, he died from a stroke before he could enjoy his success.
