how do Muslims get around the very strict interpretation rules regarding the Quran? They can’t truly believe Muhammad cut the moon in half right?

>> No.20674645

Before Muhammad asses were just mounds of fat with a hole where the shit comes out, until one day a cheeky Jew mooned Muhammad and Muhammad cleaved his ass in twain so hard all asses from that day forward became twain

(The Archangel Gabriel is the one who first gave asses holes, to confute Enoch's enemies, but that's another story)

literally every single abrahamic religion bans usury (judaism allows it but only against goys lmao) yet you cannot have a functioning nation state in 2022 without usury so the fucking cope begins. look up how muslim banks get around usury.

Government policy is a bad example because it's always a compromise between religions unless it's a theocracy. For instance, the vast majority of Christians live in a country where abortion is legal, but damned if they want it that way, it's just what they're stuck with. It's not hypocrisy on the individual level.
A better example would be young-earth creationism. Most Christians will roll their eyes at you if you say dinosaurs aren't real, but that's the most literal reading. The average person just says, "well the verse must really mean 7 days means millions of years" and that's the end of it.

Textual literality is a response to empiricism. Reading about ancient religions has made me skeptical about how often the mythos of old belief systems were taken as fact instead of being allowed to have the power of metaphor.

You can't have a society at all if you follow a religion by 1:1 100% accuracy, no same person can. Even Jews skirt around prohibitions in the Bible, they put up miles long wires in certain towns or cities as a loophole that allows them to work on the Sabbath

No-exceptions abortion bans isn't even a Biblical thing, there's a section that details making a woman miscarry for cheating on her husband. And you can say that's just OT, but there are religious anti-abortion Jews who ignore that too.

>> No.20675731

>>20675697
God has the power of life. He can kill you while in or out of the womb. The sin of abortion is the same as that of murder or suicide. You kill what isn't yours but the temple of God. So no, there is no pro abotionism in the bible. Not even close. Fucking read that thing.

And the priest shall cause her to swear, and shall say unto the woman: 'If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness, being under thy husband, be thou free from this water of bitterness that causeth the curse; but if thou hast gone aside, being under thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee besides thy husband--then the priest shall cause the woman to swear with the oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman--the LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to fall away, and thy belly to swell; and this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, and make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to fall away'; and the woman shall say: 'Amen, Amen.' And the priest shall write these curses in a scroll, and he shall blot them out into the water of bitterness. And he shall make the woman drink the water of bitterness that causeth the curse; and the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her and become bitter.
