Absolute state of /lit/. The single most important work of fiction in Islam hasn't' been mentioned yet, which is Ibn Tufayl's Hayy ibn Yaqzan. Attar's Conference of the Birds is also great but I wouldn't call it fiction in the ordinary sense, it's Sufi poetry.
