/x/ is a better place for these kinds of threads but I suppose this will do too. I would also suggest "initiation into hermetics" and more hermetic literature.

There's a very pronounced difference between "hermetic" and "new age" but it's hard to define. The best way I can try to understand it is that "new age" is very inward in its attempt to be spiritually "self-serving" whereas hermeticism seems more focused on just using abstract analogies to shine light on external ideas? The Kybalion says it's a framework for philosophies rather than a philosophy itself and Meditations on the Tarot (don't derail the thread now that I've mentioned it) is very much about illuminating theological ideas through tarot allegories.

Whereas feminized "new age" seems more about just making the reader feel "spiritual" intrinsically instead of pointing towards anything else.

Kybalion was written by one of the first New Thought popularizes. New Thought is a direct predecessor to self-help and New Age shit. If you like the Kybalion you're a pussy ass bitch.
