As much as I hate Henry James for jerking off to his own prose, I hate men like Sanderson even more. Prose is just as important as character and storytelling in a piece of literary fiction and when it is disregarded in favour of autistic fluff that only exists to prop up fan wikia pages, the entire medium suffers
"Worldbuilding" and "magic systems" are a blight on the fantasy genre and no matter how much time and effort is spent on those things, they will never uplift or carry a work whereas good prose can carry the reader through otherwise drab storytelling or poor characterisation but also make good storytelling vivid and great characterisation phenomenal

just finished wheel of time. this is my only exposure to sanderson. I was super hesitant that this new author would ruin robert jordans masterpiece but I guess Jordan left enough notes as Sanderson did a pretty good job.
