haha le funny meme writer.

I would love to discuss sci-fi, but the /sffg/ devolved into Bakker memes and is now unusable shit. So now I just read and find great stories and authors and keep them to myself because I don't use reddit or discord. God forbid we had a forum.

Everyone just wants to make funny jokes and sarcasm and memes nobody actually wants a discussion anymore.

How do I write prose like this?

You need to learn the sublime art of prose from a supreme teacher (read Bakker)

You just post in /sffg/. There's no reason for bakker meme faggots to reply to you.
Trust me, there are lots of people lurking. I even read that fucking litRPG guy's posts.

Lots of names and events I don’t know about nor care about. Why do fantasy writers do this shit? Why do they assume readers will give two shits about their fake history? More importantly, why do they always copy Tolkien?

>muh daddy Tolkien overlord
read more into the genre, anon. Tolkien is barely relevant in more ways than one. I can't help you with the worldbuilding complaints tho, I guess that just depends on you.

Why does every fantasy name in every fantasy novel sound like someone trying to write hyper-specific onomatopoeia for how a sneeze sounds?

>> No.20595743

"twisting in a draft" is a very evocative way to describe someone hanging.

You could levy that criticism against any novel that builds it own world(s) dumbass

You don't need to know to read along. They are just set pieces for story and aesthetics and themes and motifs. Have you never read a book before? Also, fiction set in the real world usually has much steeper knowledge requirements that are relevant and need to be known.

Funny part is how flustered he gets, even when he probably made himself more famous than that woman ever will be by just doing fantasy books.
