What should I read to understand Gentile? I've read Kant, but no other idealist philosophers save Berkeley. I'm broadly familiar with Marx.

Fichte, Hegel, Vico, and Croce are his main influences. It's mostly an interpretation of Fichte with Italian adornments (Vico and Croce, Hegel read through Vico).
