Extremely good book. MacDonald is a good sociologist, there's a plethora of evidence at every step, it analyses very varied events, and it uses a ton of sources. Obviously a lot of it's known by now, but it's top-tier academic research. His later book on westerners is also good where he demonstrated egalitarianism comes from Germanic tribes. It changed my outlook more than CofC because I was already aware of the JQ, but the Anglo question was not something I was considering seriously.
