Eragon is the Dexter of high fantasy.
A Sociopath who suffers no consequences for his actions.

>> No.2057445

Which is better: for your 10 year old child to be interested in Eragon, or to not be interested in reading at all?

>> No.2057451

I'd take the ten year old's Eragon away and force him to read Lord of the Rings. At least that horse is drinking; just give him water instead of sewage.

>> No.2057457

>>2057451
he won't read Lord of the Rings. Only Eragon. He knows what a neckbeard is, and he knows only neckbeards read Lord of the Rings.

What now?

I reject your scenario and embrace my own instead.

>> No.2057476

i'd burn his eragon book and let him watch my spongebob squarepants dvds instead

>> No.2057488

>>2057451

You'd do better to give him The Hobbit, honestly.

>> No.2057838

Just give him some Pern novels.
It's got dragons.
kids love dragons

Also weird sex.

>> No.2057843

starwars the dragon book is not literature

Yes it is.
stop being elitist
this isn't /v/ you know

Eragon is plagiarized trash.
Also, Dexter suffered dire consequences for his actions; your analogy is invalid.

>Eragon is plagiarized trash.

How come?
I've read the books, and i didn't exactly find this.
I did read them some years ago though, i tried reading it 2 years ago and i found it trivial after having read other literature.

Could you explain? No offense

- I haven't read the last book

Some people in here could have read this

>> No.2059771

Interesting how this thread gets more interested when you read up on it.
I still find it just as good as Lord of The Rings and Pern novels.

I don't know, it's obviously a stolen or heavily influenced book, but i still like the universe, and it doesn't matter if i like it because it resembles other books i like.
I don't really value this kind of genre really high, so i don't have any high standards for it. Like entertainment, I'll let the owners of the which the neurons created the idea fight over who was the author, and enjoy the work.
Oh, everything i just wrote is wrong in so many ways, but i don't have to delete it because i'm on an anonymous constantly-expiring imageboard

I mostly read literature concerning religion as it concerns my major, cba about talking thrash about fiction, but thats probably just because i'm not of a English origin

>> No.2059780

Second The Hobbit.

Pretty much what got me into reading.

>> No.2059783

Sure is 10 year olds home from school in here.

>> No.2059789

Pick one.

I know you're in highschool, but please feel free to show any evidence of dragons flying around.
