English is the only necessary one.

Not for philosophy, objectively.
But if one were bound to know only one, than I'd rank french above German in that case.
Knowing both is the real superpower though

Do you know who pic related is? That's Thomas Browne. Read his work and you'll realize why English is the ubermensch language in terms of beauty and textural richness (Borges was a big fanboy). French is literally a dead language. The only ones who bother learning it are the nafris who swarm Paris and Marseilles kek. Dead tongue.

>“But man is a Noble Animal, splendid in ashes, and pompous in the grave, solemnizing Nativities and Deaths with equal lustre, nor omitting Ceremonies of bravery, in the infamy of his nature. Life is a pure flame, and we live by an invisible Sun within us.”

>you'll realize why English is the ubermensch language
I don't take reading advice from Nietzsche larpers, people who use "kek" and who call authors "fanboys" of languages.
I adore English and find it to be a very beautiful language, I adore English romantic poetry, etc.
I also love French, and wish to know german.
Only simpletons feel it necessary to identify fully with a single canon and language to feel intellectually living.
