It just feels like no other writer can even begin to compare to Pynchon.

As soon as I start reading a non-Pynchon book, all I can think about is how I could be reading Pynchon instead until I finally put the book down and do start reading a Pynchon book. So far I’ve read GR 5x, M&D 4x, TCoL49 3x, and all his other books 2x.

I guess my question is, why has no other writer come close to Pynchon’s ability and/or quality?
