Recommend me some good fiction. I read almost exclusively non fiction and want to sometimes read some relaxing fiction. I enjoyed the Witcher series when I listened to it but that was a while ago and I doubt I would like it as much now. Some kind of masculine and heroic journey could interest me. I'm also interested in history so old aesthetics appeal to me.

I like Diogenes. I like that he didn't write anything. I like that the only thing that exists about him are well and ill-intentioned legends.

The Iliad and The Odyssey are the classic masculine heroic stories.

I will check him out. Legend doesn't sound that awful. I just tend to feel that most fantasy books are pretty average and not that interesting. Got into Witcher originally by playing the video games. I like inspiring characters and many fantasy novels don't have that.

I'm actually reading the Iliad. It's just not something I can completely relax on because of the style of the translated poetry.

Thank you! This one sounds excellent. I love ancient Greece and novels that treat the supernatural (in non fantasy way) as normal interest me.

Conan stories by Robert E. Howard.
It's prehistory mixed with fantasy. Howard read alot of history/myths and used that in writing his stories.
Decay of civilization is a big theme
