Probably, because the first person writing accents the subjective experience, that's why. But why I can only enjoy the subjective experience? Am I autistic, bros?

His was a condition of massive mental retardation. A common illness to be sure--in his case it manifested as a certain type of emotional myopia, a stunted development which prevented him from not only visualizing, but even sympathizing with anything but the illusion of the here and the now.
He was a practical man of practical terms and practical times and perspectives: his thoughts were even narrated in first person, much like the narratives he so loved.
"I cannot enjoy literature written in the third person" he repeated in his vacant head. Aphantasia made him unable to evoke anything but words, so he looked to the barely open copy of Gravity's Rainbow--or perhaps was it Infinite Jest, or Blood Meridian? he couldn't read the bold squiggly lines on the front either and all covers for these Big McAmerican Novels were, at least to him, the same--and felt a sense of shame and anger overtake him once more. "I cannot enjoy literature written in the third person! What is my problem!?" he asked to the four walls of his room for a third time.

I don't have aphantasia, tho. But I liked your writing in some way. Maybe, I just read bad novels. Maybe, it's all that simple, bros.
