My favorite anecdote about her comes from Rush Limbaugh over the last two years or so, via his radio show. Back in the 90s, Rush attended some media dinner back before he learned to fully distrust the American left (do not say: "The American left isn't the real left!) While there, the snakes seated him next to Camile Paglia, hoping that, given her reputation as a feminist, they might blow up at each other and useful fireworks might ensue. According to Limbaugh, Sam Donaldson and other nerds would scope the table, but the opposite played out: the two chatted politely and no blow-up ensued.

I think this happy interaction (if reported accurately) is true for multiple reasons. First, the basic fact that Paglia and Limbaugh are white people fundamentally secure in their identities and their lives. Limbaugh at that point was a guy with a successful radio show, and Paglia was also making a name for herself. On top of that, Paglia is a white bisexual woman, which is basically living life on extra-easy tutorial mode.

Peterson became famous because he spoke out against a law saying professors couldn't misgender their students. He was making a point about "compelled speech," and to an extent I get the point he was making. But I feel he missed the point that it is essentially the equivalent of calling a black student a nigger, which is already not allowed.

Sexual Personae is excellent, was based on her diss under Harold Bloom at Yale. She has some great essays too. I quite enjoyed Cult and Cosmic Consciousness. Then she has a number of books for autodidacts, Break Blow Burn is a sort of introduction to poetry, and Glittering Images is a very simple tour through art history.
