Probably his greatest work is The Bride of the Lamb, but The Lamb of God and Unfading Light are also great. Too bad later in life his friendship with Berdyaev cooled down. Would have liked to see more engagement between the two in each others later works.

The point of Sophiology is a resolve to the problem of the relationship between divine transcendence and immanence within creation. The way I understand it in Bulgakov is that Sophia is not a 4th hypostasis within the Trinity, but an hypostatization of the trinitarian relations. That is the uncreated Sophia, while the created Sophia is the theomorphic expansion of this intra-trinitarian life from non-being. In this sense creation reflects the intra-trinitarian life. But creation is fallen into an objectified state of phenomenal existence. Still the noumenal reality of creation is still present in the depth of creation and participates in the life of God.
I'm not an expert in Bulgakov, though, so I might be wrong.
