I went to a predominantly Hispanic schools and it was weird as fuck since they were at two extremes. Either they were violent barle literate apes, whenever they got picked to read out loud in class they struggled mightily to read toddler level shit, or they were really smart violent fucks that manipulated the dumber kids to fight for them.

One of my middle school classmates was street smart but not book smart. I didn't look down on him when he couldn't read, I knew it was because his parents didn't buy him any good books when he was young and he just played ps4 all day.
