I'm tired of trying to talk to you pseuds all day. I want a real Philosophy board.

Same here though I don't think we're gonna get one

You won’t get shit, pussy.

>> No.20384787

Would also double as a containment board for the religious muppetry that plagues /lit/ and /his/.

Good. We'll easily take them. It was just us doing all the real discussions anyways.

get a job and maybe one or two hobbies (I suggest reading or doing some form of sport)

/fictionlit/ and /nonfictionlit/

Is Aristotle's concept of mind anything like a substance?

>> No.20385031

make /phil/ general and maybe one day you will get one

Can you even imagine how much worse it would be to post on a board full of self-identified philosophers?

>> No.20385125

>>20384982
Then there would be too many arguments about where religion belongs.

Just have a philosophy board and explain that religion goes in there too.

>> No.20385129

>>20384778
you think we wont follow you there. we will shit that place up too. you cannot escape. this is the world now.

>> No.20385137

That's the worst thing that could ever happen. We'll only get 2000s debate me threads and do my homework. The quality of most Kant threads is enough to show it's a bad idea

>> No.20385281

>>20384778
I want an /astro/nomy board so there you go

so /lit/?

>> No.20385307

/lit/ is alright for philosophy as is.
Ideas without books to back them is not good.

Merging those two communities will kill any effort discussion that happens here and populate it with the easy one liner discussions that plagues /his/.

What you want is make-shit-up central. /x/ is that way.

Funny because..you are the pseud…

Why do you think that board will be any better? we will be the same people.

>> No.20385602

>>20385041
You mean better?
People would better read and exposed to better arguments and hold a higher standard to heart. A philosophy faculty would always be buzzing about the board.

I'm a real philosopher, and so how well read are you in logic? Have you studied Charles S. Peirce? No? Then you're equivalent to every psued here.

>> No.20386051

Make shit up is a very deliberately demeaning way of saying "having an original thought" but I think what you mean is that people will just make shit up and post it in bad faith instead of coming up with original ideas (or at least ones they think are original but have actually been covered somewhere) and trying to flesh them out in good faith. I agree after some time that a board full of that is not only useless but actively degenerate. I just wish there was a place to sincerely do original work of philosophy with other people without requiring policing (that seems to always degenerate into enforcing the world view of the police, which would be just as detrimental to the work as the propagandist shitposters they were there to remove).

>> No.20386076

>>20385307
I agree with that. If anything I wish lit posters would pay more attention to the books in threads, loosey goosey generalizations bog down a good discussion

>> No.20386710

Yes lit certainly moves way too fast for /phil/ which would just have threads flying off the catalogue at light speed. Not, you stupid faggot. lit moves slowly enough to discuss philosophy alongside literature, so its up to you to bring the discussion, so make an effort or fuck off.

>> No.20386875

>>20385357
That's already happened here in /lit/.

I hope you get what you want. Pseudo-philsophy threads are one of the cancers that have ruined this board. I want to talk about literature, not "why does jordan peterson think of kant? Also fuck ukraine"

A phil board would be pseud central and probably the most insufferable board made. But I welcome it. I want gone of you dull pretentious pricks who think skimming Ted K's manifesto deserves constant threads, splurging your "hot takes" on sociology all over the board

>having an original thought
pffffffft hahaha. You going "hmmm what if reality is a dream, bro" isn't a fucking good or orginal thread. This is a literature board, whatever thought you have will have text about it written by someone better read and researched than you. This isn't /deb/ - debates & bickering
