Any cyber punk fiction books that go deep into trans-humanist/post-humanist philosophy kind of like the anime Ghost in the Shell?

I am just learning about cyber punk fiction now. Are there "classics" for this?

I'm trans btw not sure if that matters

It absolutely does because you’re an abomination of modern medicine that muddled any actual discussion of transhumanism.

no. Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell remains, as far as i am aware, as the only masterfully executed philosophical reflections seated in a "cyberpunk" setting. Most of the cultural goods centering on cyberpunk are reddit-tier jerk off sessions to neon lights and body modifications.

You're best bet is to engage with Nick Land

This.

Ubik is not strictly speaking a cyberpunk novel, but the way I visualised parts of it was super cyberpunk for some reason. The beginning and that Mortuary place gave off that kind of energy to me.

I love ghost in the shell. I love ghost in the shell. I don't exist. The soul and consciousness is an illusion. There is the one, the disassociated organism and we shall wake it up.

Desu I often end up thinking about Ghost in the shell. I ought to read the source material again.

Do you suppose the major had a choice in integrating with the puppet master? As I recall they chose her and engaged in some form of pre-integration both in the manga and film.

The famous boat scene in the film and when she murders the arms dealer instead of letting him go and tailing him in the manga. Idk it just makes me think about how ideas and things can control us without us realising. How long had the puppet master been following her.

Loads of media you can look 'deeper' into but I guess lots of the time it just you projecting your ideas onto it.
