GUYS!! I swear I'm not trolling!!!!

But, what if the straw-man arguments Rand puts forward in Atlas Shrugged was her way to illustrate the Straw-man arguments socialists constantly use against capitalists?
This has potential for a serious discussion.

I mean, for those of you who have actually read the book, you will notice that the book takes a 180 degree turn after the second chapter.

By the end of the second chapter, you get a feeling that the book may be about the dichotomy that exists while being in power in a capitalist system (like having to be unsympathetic, cold, business like, and essentially selfish).

The part that had me constantly ragging, was that the book was parading these characteristics as being virtuous (which they are not). They are however, essential in the business world. I thought Rand was going to show the misery associated with having to be stuck in a position of having to conduct yourself in a "business-like" manor (which she sorta did), but what I didn't expect was her to raise anti-social behaviour as the highest ideal (which is what made me rage the most in the novel, as well as all the straw-man).

Also, I hated some of her awkward sentences (describing colours as violent).

An interesting point. Allow me to respond with this funny picture.

Sometimes I just stare at it for for hours, laughing.

Ayn Rand was a typical Jew and a woman.

Jews and women have one thing in common. Lust for capital.

Mr. Anon, I have a suspicion that what you just said right there, was not politically correct.

But, what if the brutal beatings police puts forward in cop violence was their way to illustrate the violence gangsters constantly use against cops?
This has potential for a serious discussion.

I think I'll do a 360 and back slowly out of this thread.

>> No.2035654

trust me, she wasn't smart enough (talented a writer enough) to pull that shit off.
i didn't read atlas shrugged.
but i did read the fountainhead.
i'll just say that if you're going to use your work as a vehicle exclusively for political propaganda, the story will turn out UUUUBER shitty.

>> No.2035663

p.s. if everyone in america behaved the way that the main characters in the fountainhead behaved. society wouldn't last very long.
personally i always thought that ayn rand was really just doling out vitriol as payback for what the socialists did to her father,
i'm no psychiatrist but i gathered from the fountainhead that ayn rand was the type of girl who would fuck her own dad and enjoy it.
