>love the concept of fantasy with a passion
>can't stomach to read past the first 3 chapters of most fantasy books I've tried

Why the FUCK is fantasy full of some of the dullest, most generic, uninspired schlock known to man? Is there anything out there anymore that doesn't read like someone transcribed their D&D campaign into the pages? There are so many obvious Tolkien copycats, game of thrones tryhards, and "My magic system is different" Potter imitators.

You should try something different. Look at JoeRape, that's a "fantasy" but it remains incredibly realistic. The only fantasy element is that people aren't massive faggots and are cool instead.

I think any sort of sappy idealistic faggotry gets tired as fuck. The second "Dwarves, elves, humans, and hobbits all get along to solve their problems and attain greater success than they would independently" is the second you start teaching people that "Normal People, Blacks, Jews, Communists, Homosexuals, Drug Addicts, Child Rapists and normal people can be more so successful by cooperating and tolerating each other."

I know everybody was technically White in LOTR, but even tolerating subhuman breeds of Whites was a catalyst for the diversity parade celebrating people like Joe Rape.

Fantasy is boring because it doesn't feel real enough. You need realistic flavor stories that allows you to voluntarily blur the lines of reality and willfully suspend disbelief.

People are not backwoods peasants anymore, so tales of shit like dragons, wizards, and that shit are much less enjoyable because you're so psychologically conditioned to believe these things cannot be real and have never been real. The peasant who still thinks dragons and wizards are real will love LOTR, but in the age of the internet, it's much harder to genuinely believe folktales and mythology like LOTR, and the believably is what made them so popular among peasants in the first place.

You need to find a type of fantasy that people are ignorant enough to believe "might possibly be true" and that's where you can find the engagement. You become engaged because you want it to be real, so you suspend your disbelief to allow you to enjoy the story.

I put some classic Joe Rape on this Jewish Anime Child because I figured it would be more pallatable for people who are conditioned like dogs to suffer upon seeing Joe Biden. The irony is that 99% of people are conditioned like dogs to suffer at the sight of paragraphs. The common man hates paragraphs more than racist dogs hate colored people. They can't understand why, they have no legitimate reason, but they have absolutely no capacity to question or resist their conditioning.

Try the Throne of Bones by Brian Mcnaughton. Full of murder, sex, gore, corpse-eating ghouls and necromancers. The stories are all integrated and reference each other and it´s really well written to. Full of dark humor as well. It´s more horror fantasy but the humor makes it less edgy and more of a fun read.

You need to make a favor to yourself and avoid modern anglo fantasy as much as possible. instead, try to read supernatural stories outside genre fiction or look for the few jewels that still can be found within it.
Baudolino by Umberto Eco, the Wandering Unicorn by Manuel Mujica Lainez, Borges, some of the works of Guy Gavriel Kay, older examples like Lord Dunsany and the magical realism movement are pretty good.

There are only 4 Hobbits in most of the story. The Dwarves hardly play a part and almost all of the Elves literally say "Fuck this shit I'm going home" at the beginning of the story. You are wrong. Tolkien wrote a large part of the history of Middle Earth before he ever wrote LOTR. He even said he left most of that history out of the book because it would have made it too long. As an aside this stands in contrast to modern Fantasy writer like Jordan or Sanderson who revel in the opportunity to lay out every detail of their world to you over the course of 10,000 pages. But my point is that Tolkien did build the world first he just chose not to let the story get bogged down by it too much.
