Do you highlight inside books you own, /lit/? Do you use one color or multiple colors for different passages?

>> No.20330295

i prefer underlining with erasable colored pencils so the next person who owns the book can get rid of my marks.

No. I suspect it's a sign of schizophrenia.

No, respect the books or fuck off. You wouldn't use a highlighter on an innocent kid either, would you?

I underline in pen. Never liked the highlighter colors.

OP's picture is from here, it seems it's for multiple lines and the window one is so you see the text as you highlight it

I underline with a pencil and that's it. Sometimes I draw on blank pages

oh cool, thanks.

I make a little pencil mark indicating the start/end. I mark the page with a small sticky tab. That way it is easy to find when I need to reference, but not distracting while reading.

I find highlighting super annoying to read. My eye keeps being drawn to it instead of reading freely.

i use highlighters not on book, but on academic journals or research papers

I dislike highlighting, I generally just mark the lines in the outer margin, a hyphen for single lines, a bracket for multiple lines.

What an odd analogy. Little kids are perfectly happy being drawn on and thrilled if you let them draw on you as well. Have you ever been around any children?

i can't bring myself to do it. what if i died and everyone went through my books making fun of the lines i highlighted?
