I didn't. In terms of a historical novel it's good, in terms of literary work it's bad. It reads like a little girls diary (because it is) which makes liking it from a literary standpoint to me. It's better suited for a history person to look into the mind of a kid during ww2

It's just her thoughts and feelings about mundane things. I just dislike diaries in general. If instead it was a story written about her time instead of in a diary format it would be better to me.
