What are /lit/izens reading habits? Right now I've been reading 2 hours, five days a week. Considering college is still online I got time. But sooner or later I'll become a wagie and I'll probably just have like 1 hour at best. Is hour everyday enough to make it as a true reader? How many hours do you read daily, /lit/?

No 1 hour is not enough. There is a mass of requirements you need to meet to even begin to think about ever becoming a real reader, and just from the look of you I can tell you have no chance
But if you insist, the first requirement is getting the fuck out

My reading is shit right now. I've stalled in the middle of Moby Dick and have only made it a couple pages further in the past two weeks. Too focused on school and writing

I generally end up sleeping these days when reading. I'll make it a page or two but no more.

Holy shit. How long does it take you finishing a book?

Read whenever I feel like it. I read ~10-20 pages at a time taking frequent breaks to refocus and ruminate. Read 50-150 pages a day

About one every two months this year. But sooner or later insomnia will return and I'll be back to 6 or so a month.

I more or less have to read 5-6 hours every day to make a living and it is an endless nightmare.

Yeah, I gotta agree with this anon >>20312179. From where I'm at, you just look like a plebian, op. I mean, god, look how little you've read in your life. I'm betting your monolingual? Jesus. It's pathetic. I work full time, and I still manage to get in 4 or 5 hours of reading a day. On weekends, probably about 8. I really just can't take you seriously, op. I cringe when I look at myself in the mirror and compare myself to the greats. Look at Leibniz, for example. But when I see you, man... at least I'm not that guy, is all I think. An hour a day... a true reader? hilarious. Anyways, op, get yourself together.

>once I become a wagie and have to work 40 hours a week I will have no time to read despite no longer having homework to do on top of my 40 hours a week of school
My reading time more than doubled after I finished school. Hell I managed to get in at least an hour of reading every day when i was in school and I was working a full time job as well. I read for 30 minutes to an hour at breakfast, read through my hour long lunch break and read for an hour before bed, still have a good 7 or 8 hours in the day for everything else I need to do. On weekends I tend to read for 3 or 4 hours every morning and my normal hour or so before bed. That is just the regular reading, I often read more and may do 4 or 5 hours of reading after work if I have nothing else going on or just feel like reading. You are looking for excuses and I am sure you will find them.

I have to work 90-100 hours a week for a year or two and I still surpass an hour of reading everyday. A normal wagie job shouldn't be a problem.
