I don't think pooper or cuhnt expected their works to be read by scientists to change the way they view their discipline or practice. It's for other philosophers, or for ordinary people to try to understand how science works at a deeper level.

I had to read popper, kuhn and lakatos for uni. Imre Lakatos seemed to the robust synthesis of the two. He proposed a "sophisticated methodolgical falsificationism" .
