This was my first work by Jung. I'm mainly interested in the alchemy/mythology/archetypal aspect of his work. I've got "Modern Man in Search of a Soul" and later "The Red Book" on standby.

Archetypes of the Collective Unconscious is really cool. He goes into mandalas as well if you're interested in that.

The Alchemy of Human Happiness - Arabi
Which work by Corbin and which work by Guenon? Guenon has a fucking shitload.
>>20254253
Honestly I'm kind of tired of hearing about fucking Mandalas already. There's quite a bit dedicated to them in this one.

I'm 1/2 through this.
It's very interesting and seems incredibly well put together.
I don't really know if it's "good" or "accurate" but the journey is worth it.

I have read most of the collected works. The best advice I can give is you is not to skip to the 9th or 12th volume without reading any of Jung's early formulations of his theories. They were ordered for good reason. Man and his symbols is not enough you will be lost and think he's schizo (he is but only in the red book). or like >>20255171 won't be able to tell if it is "accurate" because you haven't followed the derivation of his theories from clinical and historical experience.

I love Jung, but did not like man and symbols. Probably because only a small part of it was written by Jung. After droves of dream interpretations by his students I got bored.

I gathered I should read "Modern Man in Search of a Soul" next then, it's already sitting on the shelf so ez. What, specifically, should be read after that? 18 volumes is too heavy for my current time horizon. This one is often recommended:

I want to get through as much Jung as I can in the next two 1/2 months.

it's good, first couple chapters gives an overview and the rest is like an encyclopedia of symbols

Modern Man is a good move. I'd recommend Two Essays and Symbols of Transformation. Then jump into whatever. An issue with his published works overall is how fragmented they are. Lots of collected lectures and such without structure. A short summary of the collective unconscious like he gives in Aion for example isn't enough to fully grasp the subject. This leads to much repetition on topics but that makes reading through those sections easier if you already understand him.

Got it, thanks for the info. So it's looking like:
>Modern Man > Symbols > Two Essays > Collective Uncon > AION > Psychology and Alchemy > Alchemical Studies > Red Book?

Is Mysterium Coniunctionis a must read? This is kind of a lot but fuck it.

>> No.20259604

His biography Memories Dreams and Reflections is a good read also. I've never read Mysterium Coniunctionis but apparently it's really deep down the Jung rabbit hole.
